Any life form in any realm-mineral, vegetable, animal, or human-can be said to undergo "enlightenment."
It is, however, an extremely rare occurrence since it is more than an evolutionary progression: It also implies a discontinuity in its development, a leap into an entirely different level of Being and, most important, a lessening of materiality.
~Eckhart TolleDear Diary,
Two of my friends got moved off of the truck and I only seldom see one of them even though we work near the same area.
I miss them because they made being on the truck fun. Especially on those long hard two truck days.
Sometimes I cannot fathom human reasoning at all.... and I feel unconnected to everything around me. Scatterbrained I call it. I know, possibly it is a misguided odd-ism handed down to me from some phantom gene, or some quirk embedded into my DNA molecules. Anyhow, the point #1 is that Currently, Pu’u O’o emits around 2,000 tonnes of SO2 per day, and some of the fumes blow into populated areas. What does this have to do with anything you ask>?<
On a trade wind day, northeast winds blow Kilauea’s gases toward the southwest areas of the island and across the ocean, but then thermally-generated winds (caused by Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea heating up during sunlight hours) draw the vog back into a large eddy system offshore of the district of Kona.
During daylight hours the vog is brought ashore and upslope on the flanks of Mauna Loa and Hualalai; at night, offshore breezes carry it back out to sea. When the wind blows from the south, Kona enjoys clean air, and Hilo suffers.
Because Hilo is so much closer to the erupting vents, there is less time for the vog to become dispersed and react with the atmosphere and, as a result, it contains higher concentrations of sulfur dioxide and sulfuric acid aerosols than are found in Kona, and is correspondingly more unpleasant. In extreme cases, visibility in East Hawaii is less than a couple of miles. When winds are light and variable, the vog accumulates in areas closest to the emitting vents: near Pu‘u O‘o, communities such as Mountain View and Glenwood see high concentrations of vog.
Why remain in the area and wear a mask? Yes the mask will help but why live in a fall out shelter while the rest of your grass, plants, and animals suffer? The fumes are toxic to plants, animals and humans. Yes the view is worth staying but within certain reasoning. When your health is being affected it is time to move on. Why harm your family and animals or risk their health for a nice view?
#2 Work just caught their mistake of having me on the truck for nary three months knowing I have a weight limit.
I turned my paperwork in during orientation to the guy in personnel who just happens to not be there any longer. I complained to manager after manager and yet nothing got done. I took a pay cut to switch positions to an easier job with less heavy lifting in soft-lines only to be put back unloading the truck lifting 2,000 pounds of potting soil.
So after four people quit this week; making the workload on the rest of us that much harder and they still refuse to hire more people, I went in the manager's office to quit yesterday and she asked why so I told her I go home barely able to walk every day from unloading two 2,400 piece trucks. She asked why they even had me back there anyway so apparently the guy in personnel never turned the paperwork in to any other manager that I had a weight limit. I told every manager that worked with me and the lead guy in charge did know about my weight limit and still made me pull heavy freight anyway and shouted at me angrily for standing there occasionally dumbfounded knowing I couldn't lift stuff that he was making me lift. He would shout, belittle, demean and degrade me in front of co-workers causing them to disrespect me so I started standing up to him and started shouting back. It is worse than being in the Navy Seals. In Soviet Russia, I would crack his skull with an iron stick then eat his tiny little heart like a piece of rock candy.. fhwah!
Now they want to move me to soft-lines permanently and want me to re-bring in the documents that show what surgeries I have had so they can pass them around to all the managers. I am wondering where I stand on this issue because that was the personnel guys job, not mine.
I made them all aware of it already and I am really furious about the way I keep getting pushed around from place to place.
For Mother's Day, which is always touchy for me since dad died on that day, turned out perfect this year. I made a large mother-daughter breakfast and I think it is going to become a yearly milestone for us as a way to spend special time together.
Spent some time down at the single wide and camper placing blocks under them and looking for things that need fixed up. They are both real fixer-uppers. On both of them there is some damage to the side under the metal. looks to be rotten wood. not worried about spending a lot of money on them as they were bought for cheap just for storage places and occasional get-a-ways.
This has been the worst year ever for the grapes. The sun is already too hot during the day and even after moving them back to the shade it is still having some full sun every afternoon. I don't really know if they can take it or not.
decided to finally work on the PhD course and the Master's in Religion. I find world religion fascinating and am glad to finally pursue them further.
nuff said.
Aho Mitakuye' Oyasin,
